Together with its cooperation partner, Dermatologikum Hamburg www.dermatologikum.de), SCIderm provides a range of scientific examination methods that can support clinical research, and also deal with fundamental scientific issues.

A microbiological laboratory specializing in dermatological issues provides cultivation, definition and resistance tests of several pathogenic germs from various examination material, as well as evidence of viruses using molecular-biological methods from special coloring methods and PCR diagnosis to special DNA sequencing techniques.

The associated histopathology lab provides microscopic tissue examinations of the highest scientific level and conducts regular training for scientific staff in the field of histopathology. Thanks to a wide client network, the lab conducts diagnoses nationwide for numerous dermatologist's offices and clinics. Special issues concerning scientific examinations are also regularly processed - among other things, the lab has experience as a central lab for multi-center clinical studies. Fundamental scientific issues are researched in various ways: in addition to established standard methods, new ones are developed and established as per requirements. It is also possible to combine complex molecular-biological immunohistochemical methods with methods of conventional histopathology.

The spectrum of lab services also includes various possibilities of analyzing allergologic and immunological diseases, such as serological definition of specific (auto) antibodies.
